Who We Are:
We are a group, mostly in our twenties and thirties, about 100 in number and growing, who form part of the Greyfriars Church community.
Our aim is to be relevant, dynamic and attractive to a generation that needs to know Christ and to develop in their faith. We are committed to seeing ‘Church’ as who we are and what we do all week, rather than just a building or Sunday meeting.
What we do:
Bible studies, group meetings, social occasions, worship, prayer, special events, discussions, fun nights out...
On Wednesday or Thursday nights we meet together in Small Groups (Cell Groups) at different homes for relationship, Bible study and discussions. These cells are an ideal environment to develop a sense of community, and to provide somewhere to study, question and discuss the Bible in a non-threatening and supportive environment.
Each cell also forms part of a wider community of cells known as a ‘cluster’. Every 6 weeks (or thereabouts) cells meet in clusters, an environment for building wider relationships within the Church and for exercising gifts in a larger setting than cell. Occasional ‘all-together’ meetings for all members of Gen X are also in the process of being developed.
Our vision is:
- To encourage those in the 18 to 39 (ish!) generation into a deeper relationship with Christ;
- Supporting them as they work to grow in their faith;
- Providing training and a forum for developing spiritual gifts and abilities;
- Then releasing them to share Christ’s gospel
