** Next Alpha Course ** The next course starts on Wednesday 8th October, 7.30pm. Alternatively there is a daytime course for ladies on Thursdays starting on 2nd October at 10am. There is an introductory Alpha Supper evening on Saturday 27th September. For information about the course and the venue contact Pads Dolphin or Helen Tinker . Alpha is for everyone, especially those wanting to investigate Christianity, new Christians or those new to the church, or those who want to brush up on the basics. What is Alpha?
T he Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the big questions of life such as Why are we here? What happens after we die? Why is our spirituality important? Exactly who was this man Jesus? Why is there so much suffering? It is relaxed, low-key, friendly and fun. There is no question too simple, too silly, too big or too hostile that you can't ask it. Anything goes! There is a meal together at the beginning of the evening to give you a chance to relax and get to know some of the others on the course. Listen, learn, discuss and discover. (There is no charge for the course but we do ask for a small voluntary donation for the meal.)
The Alpha Course Phenomenon
T he Alpha course is now running in more than 7000 locations around
the UK and more than 1.5 million people have attended an Alpha course in the UK to
date. The course, which started at a London church in the early 1980's is now run in
more than 100 countries around the world and in dozens of different languages. For
hundreds of thousands of people, going on an Alpha course has been the start of
experiencing life in a completely fresh, new and exciting way.
