The Alpha Course |
The Alpha course is running again at Greyfriars Church. The course lasts 10 consecutive weeks starting on Thursday 19 January 2012 from 7.30pm to 9.45pm. The evening starts with dinner, followed by a DVD and discussion time. Please join us. For further information please contact Helen Tinker.

What is Alpha?
T he Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the big questions of life such as Why are we here? What happens after we die? Why is our spirituality important? Exactly who was this man Jesus? Why is there so much suffering? It is relaxed, low-key, friendly and fun. There is no question too simple, too silly, too big or too hostile that you can't ask it. Anything goes! There is a meal together at the beginning of the evening to give you a chance to relax and get to know some of the others on the course. Life is worth exploring - come and explore it with us.
The Alpha Course Phenomenon
T he Alpha course is now running in more than 7000 locations around
the UK and more than 1.5 million people have attended an Alpha course in the UK to
date. The course, which started at a London church in the early 1980's, is now run in
more than a hundred countries around the world, and in dozens of different languages. For
hundreds of thousands of people, going on an Alpha course has been the start of
experiencing life in a completely fresh, new and exciting way.
